Doukisis Plakentias Metro Tunnel (Athens, Greece)

Project Description
Forensic investigation of the causes of failure of a bored metro tunnel. The tunnel was under construction, when it suddenly collapsed, creating a large sinkhole on the roadway above.

Turnout crossings, Athens Metro (Greece)

Project Description
Forensic investigation of the causes of fatigue failure of baseplate assemblies at the area of turnout crossings, which took place just over a year after the metro lines were put into service. After successful identification of the causes of failure, mitigation measures were proposed and successfully applied. No problems reported since 2003.
