It was a great pleasure for the ETH Chair of Geotechnical Engineering to host this year’s annual GEOLAB Networking Event along with the annual ELGIP (European Large Geotechnical Institutes Platform) Workshop. For one week, experts from the academia and the industry, as well as critical infrastructure decision-makers gathered together to attend the ELGIP Workshop on Offshore Geotechnics and the GEOLAB Workshop on innovation, risk management and resilience of critical infrastructure in Europe. During the GEOLAB New Generation Training Workshop, young researchers had the opportunity to attend rigorous hands-on training on geotechnical physical modeling. The GEOLAB Project provides free access to some of the leading physical modelling facilities in Europe to aspiring researchers who would like to conduct ground-breaking research, aiming at enhancing the resilience of Europe’s Critical Infrastructure.
